Give up sex to be skinny?
How far would you go to be skinny? Would you go as far as giving up sex for a whole year? A new survey compiled by Fitness magazine in the US has found that 51 percent of women would sacrifice ruffling up the sheets with their partner for a year if it meant they would be skinny.
Tough question, but more than half of the 2400 women surveyed said they would give up sex just to be thin. The other 49 percent would prefer to get raunchy and be overweight, the UK’s Daily Mail reported.
Women go to great lengths to diet, doing everything from working out morning and night, eating nothing but carrot sticks and lettuce, road-testing the latest diet fads and following in the footsteps of the stick-thin stars with celebrity diets and even plastic surgery.
An alarming 43 percent of the women surveyed by the magazine admitted to skipping meals regularly in a bid to stay slim, and a further 39 percent have used crash diets to drop pounds quickly.
Now we all know what happens on a crash diet you pack on the weight immediately as soon as you start eating normally again. Exercise and a healthy diet is the best way!
“These images from TV and movies, actresses you feel a lot of pressure as a woman to be thin,” Fitness magazine’s executive editor Pam O’Brien said.
“Women know it’s hard to lose weight and keep it off, so they are willing to try things that work quickly the magic pill idea like a detox or slimming pill. We all want a quick result.
“If you stick to a diet that’s healthyaround 1500 calories a day you’ll lose one kilogram a week,” O’Brien said.
“Exercise is also a really important factor. Try to find something you enjoy, whether it’s running or spinning. It releases endorphins and also boosts metabolism.”
